De Montréal - Points de repères Route 315
Traversez la rivière des Outaouais par le pont Cartier-McDonald (Pont de la rue King Edward). Suivez les indications pour l'autoroute 50.
Prenez l'autoroute 50 jusqu'au bout et tournez à gauche. Roulez
jusqu'au rond-point et prenez la direction pour Mayo. Vous êtes
maintenant sur la route 315. Suivez la 315 pour environ 15 kms
puis tournez à droite sur Giroux. Vous y êtes!

Prendre l'autoroute 15 vers le nord jusqu'à la sortie pour
l'aéroport de Mirabel / autoroute 50. Suivez l'autoroute 50 jusqu'à son
extrémité où elle rejoint la route 148. Tournez à gauche sur la
148 et rendez-vous à Thurso.
Vous pouvez également prendre l'autoroute 40 ouest et suivre
les indications pour Ottawa. Lorsque vous entrez en Ontario la 40
devient la 417. Prenez la sortie pour Hawkesbury / Route 17 et
suivez la 17 jusqu'à Hawkesbury. À la première sortie pour
Hawkesbury suivez les indications pour la Province de Québec qui vous
mèneront vers un pont traversant la rivière des Outaouais. À la
sortie du Pont allez tout droit jusqu'à la route 148 où vous tournez à
gauche. Rendez-vous à Thurso.
Traversez Thurso. Lorsque la 148 quitte Thurso elle
tourne vers la gauche. Dans le tournant vous tournez à droite pour
prendre le Rang 4. Suivez le Rang 4 jusqu'à ce que vous rencontrez un
arrêt. C'est la Montée Berndt. Tournez à droite sur Berndt
et suivez celle-ci jusqu'au Rang 5. Tournez à gauche sur le Rang
5 et conduisez jusqu'au prochain arrêt. C'est le chemin Silver
Creek. Tournez à droite sur Silver Creek, celui-ci devient le
chemin Roy lorsque vous entrez dans la municipalité de Mayo.
Rendez vous à son extrémité où il rejoint la route 315. Tournez à
droite sur la 315. Lorsque celle-ci se change en route de terre
vous tournez à droite sur le chemin Giroux (deuxième chemin sur la
droite après que la route se change en un chemin de terre.)
Our Lady of Knock Shrine - Une église blanche. Quand
vous arrivez de Buckingham vous la verrez sur votre gauche au bas d'une
pente au pied de laquelle la Route 315 tourne sur la gauche à 90
degrés. N'allez pas tout droit! Suivez la 315. Lorsque vous
arrivez de Montréal (en présumant que vous avez suivi les indications
précédentes) vous voyez l'église sur votre droite lorsque vous
approchez de la 315 en provenance du chemin Silver Creek / Roy. Vous
devez passer devant l'église pour vous rendre chez nous.
Le prochain point de repère est la Forêt Blanche. Vous êtes à
moins de deux kilomètres de chez nous.
Une pente raide descendante se terminant près d'un grand étang
sur la gauche de la route. Vous êtes presque rendus!
Vous voyez la pancarte indiquant une route de terre sur les prochains
25 k? Ralentissez! Le chemin Giroux est le second sur la droite
(le premier s'appelle Walker). Tournez à droite sur Giroux et
conduisez tout droit jusqu'à ce que vous voyiez un chalet rouge (plutôt
foncé) avec une enseigne de potier:
Cross the Ottawa River by the McDonald-Cartier bridge (at the north
end of King Edward) and follow directions for Hwy 50. Take Hwy 50
going east (towards Montreal) to the end. At the stop sign turn left.
Drive to the circle and take the Mayo circle exit. You'll be on
Hwy 315 N. Drive for about 15 kms, maybe a little less. The 315 will
become a dirt road and the second road on the right (after the 315
truned to dirt) will be Giroux. Turn right on Giroux. (see Landmarks)
15 North to Mirabel Airport exit (Hwy 50). Follow Hwy 50 all the way to the end where it meets with Route 148. Turn Left on the 148 and follow it until Thurso.
You can also take the 40 West and follow directions for Ottawa. When crossing into Ontario the 40 becomes the 417. Take the exit for Route 17/Hawkesbury. Follow Route 17 to Hawksbury then follow directions for Prov. of Quebec. When you cross the bridge go straight ahead and follow the road till you reach Route 148. Turn left onto Route 148. Drive until Thurso.
Go through Thurso, when you exit Thurso, Route 148 will curve left. In the curve, on the right you turn onto Rang 4. Follow Rang 4 until you meet a stop sign, the cross street wil be Montée Berndt. Turn right onto Montée Berndt and follow it till you meet up with Rang 5. Turn left onto Rang 5 and drive to the next stop sign where you turn right onto Silver Creek Road. Follow Silver Creek Road till the end (it becomes Chemin Roy when you enter the Municipality of Mayo) where it meets with route 315. Turn right onto Route 315. You will pass in front of Our Lady of Knock Shrine. Follow Route 315 until it turns to dirt. The second road on the right (after the 315 truned to dirt) will be Giroux.
Our Lady of Knock Shrine - which is a little white church. Coming from Buckingham you will see it on your left from the top of the hill. At the bottom of that hill, Route 315 turns left and the road also goes straight ahead and turns to dirt towards a cemetary. Don't go straight. Follow the highway passed the front of the church. Just 10 kms to go. Coming from Montreal (assuming you followed the above directions) you will see it on your right when you reach route 315 coming from Silver Creek/Chemin Roy.
The next landmark is the provincial Forêt Blanche. We live just off of Hwy 315, about a mile past the entrance to Forêt Blanche. So if you haven't passed it, you haven't yet gone too far.
Steep Hill going down and ending near a pond on your left- you're getting very hot!
See that sign that says next 25 kms gravel road? Slow down now. Giroux is the 2nd street after that sign. The first street is Walker. Turn right on Giroux (the only way you can go) and go straight down Giroux til you reach the red-brown cottage with the pottery sign:
